Categories of Parcels

Find below various categories of parcels and examples of items that can fall under these categories. When registering parcels, in the description ensure you mention any defect the parcel may have (E.g. Crack, Broken part, Stain, Scratch, Lost part). It is important to add the defect when describing the item being registered so that it is recorded and signed by the sender and so that they are aware of it. It is also important because it allows the receiving stations to also be aware of the state of the item upon receipt. See examples of the various categories highlighted in Green. 

Also note that when describing an item, you describe properly with brand names or name of the product.

A

• Air Conditioner: Air conditioner or AC a machine that cools a room, building, or vehicle, that are new and used. They are usually in Horsepower (hp). Ensure you always state the Brand name of the AC.
• Air Conditioner (Standing Unit)
• Air Conditioner Accessories :  Air conditioner accessories e.g. AC Filter, AC Controller, Fin Comb set, Condenser coil, Compressor, Evaporator Coil etc. 
• Alcoholic Beverage: Drinks containing alcohol in it. it is produced by fermentation of grains, fruits. E.g. Wine, Whiskey, Gin, Brandy, Star, Radler etc.
• Alcoholic Beverage- Premium : This category is for expensive drinks like Glenmorangie, Glenfiddich, Don Perignon, Moët et Chandon, Clase Azul etc
  
• Amplifier: Sound system 
• Apparel: Clothing, especially outer garments made out of fabric/material) E.g. Shirt, Trousers & Jeans, Blouse, sports wears,
• Appliance accessories: Accessories are items of equipment that are not usually essential, but which can be used with or added to appliances in order to make it more efficient 
• Artwork: illustrations, photographs, other non-textual material, paintings, drawings, or other artistic works
• Auto Engine: Engine for motor and industrial equipment: pumping, car

• Automobile Battery: or car battery is a rechargeable battery that is used to start a motor vehicle. Its main purpose is to provide an electric current to the electric-powered starting motor, which in turn starts the chemically-powered internal combustion engine that actually propels the vehicle

• Beans (Seed that can be used for food), it is in 10kg, 25kg and 50kg sizes
• Beauty Accessories- items use to beautify the body
• Bed Frame- A bedstead made of wood or metal e.g. Bed Frame or Bedstand
• Bedding Accessories:  eg.throw pillow, pillow case, bed spread, Duvet
• Beverages- Variety-A drink or drinks other than water e.g. Milk, Tea, Coffee, Sparkling drinks, Juices, Energy drink,  Mocktails etc.
• Bicycle Adult & Kids- A vehicle consisting of two wheels held in a frame one behind the other, propelled by pedals and steered with handlebars attached to the front wheel. Not to be put under Motorcycle
• Books- A medium for recording information in the form of writing or images, typically composed of many pages bound together and protected by a cover e.g. Story Book, Exercise Book, Novels, Magazine etc.
• Building Material Accessories- items used in the construction industry to create buildings and structure e.g. carbon fiber, steels, zinc sheets

• Cabinet: A case or cupboard with drawers or shelves for holding or storing things. 
• Canned, Bottled & Dairy Foods: Corned beef, Milk, Milk tin, Jam, sweet corn, Sardines,
• Chair Office: a piece of furniture for one person to sit on, which has a back, a seat, and four legs
• Chair Regular:
• Chemical: A distinct compound or substance, especially one which has been artificially prepared or purified
• Clock: or a timepiece is a device for measuring and showing time, usually found in or on a building and not worn by a person e.g Wall Clock
• Computer & Accessories: Any device added to a computer that performs an additional capability or feature
• Cookware & Kitchen Utensils: A kitchen utensil is a small hand held tool used for food preparation. Cookware is a merchandise used for cooking, in this case small items. eg. Forks, Knives, Chafing Dish, Plates, Spoons, Sieve, Silverware, pans, baking sheets
• Cupboard: a recess or piece of furniture with a door and typically shelves, used for storage

• Diapers: for babies or adults, always indicate the name of the brand
• Documents: Original- Original documents. Ensure that when registering documents that you mention the type of document in the description e.g. WAEC Certificate in GMB). Also Document need to be put in a GUOL Envelope before putting the envelope in a GMB.
• Documents: Photocopy- Photocopy of Documents
• Door: a hinged, sliding, or revolving barrier at the entrance to a building, room, or vehicle, or in the framework of a cupboard
• Double Door Fridge: There are two doors, one door as the main door and other one is freezer
• Drum: plastic drum for water storage

• Dry Meat/Fish: very well dried meat, Kilishi, crayfish, stockfish, dried fish

• Eyeglasses: a device used to correct defects of vision or to protect the eyes that consists typically of a pair of glass or plastic lenses and the frame by which they are held in place

• Facemask- a protective mask covering the nose and mouth or nose and eyes.
• Fan- electrical fan (these must be completely decoupled if they are to be moved)
• Fashion Accessories: scarf, hat, fancy bag, fascinator, hat, headgear and accessories, 
• Food Items Combo- refers to different types of food from the entire range of food groups like dried vegetables, fruit, cereals, kuli kuli, grounded food, and dairy products.
• Food Service Equip
• Footwear: outer coverings for the feet, e.g. shoes, boots, slippers ,socks and sandals
• Fragrance (is an aroma, especially one that is pleasant, or a substance which gives a pleasant aroma): Perfume, Body Spray, Deodorant, Cologne, After-shave etc.
• Freezer: either long or wide - Must include the Brand name

• Gadgets: a small mechanical or electronic device or tool
• Gallon: plastic gallons for storing liquids and other items
• Game Console: PlayStation5, Gamebox, Nintendo etc.
• Garri
• Gas Cooker: a range with gas rings and an oven for cooking with gas
• Gas Cylinder: a pressure vessel for storage and containment of gases at above atmospheric pressure
• Gearbox: a set of gears with its casing, especially in a motor vehicle; the transmission
• Generator: mechanical devices that convert mechanical energy to electrical energy which forces electric current to flow through an external circuit.
