PROHIBITED ITEMS
Below are some of the items we do not carry;
- Foreign Foods: Foreign Rice (i.e. check the manufacturing country, basmati etc.), Canned foreign foods (Tomatoes, vegetables) & large quantities of Vegetable Oil, we move Nigerian made Vegetable oil.; kindly contact BOM , Compliance or your Regional Supervisor for guidance if there is any exception to be made.
- Hard Drugs, Cigarette, Vape ; Cocaine, Cannabis, Marijuana, Weed, Tramadol etc.
- Money (Physical Cash & signed cheques)- we are not financial institutions
- Filled Gas Cylinder & Lighters- customer MUST expel all gas in the cylinder away from the office before registration
- Contraband goods; this refers to goods that are taken into or out of a country illegally; foreign rice, tyres (fairly used/Tokunbo tyres), Okrika clothes ,bags, toys and shoes.
- Inflammable substances e.g. Gas, Petrol, certain chemicals (liquid or powder: check the label on the bottle of the container).
- Live animals e.g. dogs, ram, goats, chicken etc.
- Perishable foods e.g. fresh vegetables & fruits.
- Smoked/Cooked meat or fish (Ensure the meat/fish is extremely dry and has no foul smell).
- Frozen foods e.g. chicken, turkey, fish, dairy product etc.
- Generator with Fuel( Empty all fuel, diesel, oils or liquids inside before registration)
- Machete & Cutlass
- Firearms, parts thereof and ammunition
- Red oil (due to its capacity to leave long lasting stain on anything it comes in contact with)
- Mirror, tampered glass, windscreen
- Injections and Medicine without NAFDAC Registration Number or Batch No. Do not describe approved medication as "Drugs"
- Photo frame with glass or weak frames - Photo frames need to be caged
- Tiles and Marbles, Ceramic Plates & general merchandize of the nature.
Note: When you are unsure, consult your Station/Regional Manager/Supervisor before proceeding with the parcel registration.
Kindly note that the items below need better handling before registration
- Standing fan & Standing sewing machine- these 2 need to be completely decoupled by the sender before they can be registered. If there are any loose parts, e.g.. screws, bolts, Keys etc. then they should be placed in a GMB and registered as another item in the PID.
- TV(not to be tested in our station), Microwave, Solar Panel, Gas Cooker with glass, Table top cooker with glass, Washing machine with glass, Mainly very fragile items, need to be caged before movement. All must be well inspected in front of the customer before registration. Ensure dents, cracks, scratches are indicated when registering.
